Hoddick, Cappelli, Bernhard, Jankowiak and Roesch take the checkers on Dave Black Memorial Night.

It was a little bit on the cooler side in downtown Lancaster for the running of the Dave Black Memorial 76 lapper. Sportsman, Supers, Streets, and 4 Cylinders were also on hand for the nights racing action.

The wild and crazy 4 cylinders were the first feature event. Don Roesch got out front early and held his lead the entire race despite holding off pressure from both Tim Haniszewski Jr. and Sr. Roesch held them both off keeping the car low and moving around lapped cars patiently. Don Roesch went on to win the race. It was Roesch's second career 4 cylinder win. Haniszewski Jr and Sr rounded out the top 3 finishers.

Jim Bryant started on the pole for the Street Stock feature with 22 cars behind him. Early on in the race, Bryant was able to race away from the lead pack and had a decent sized lead. Unfortunately, when the caution flag flew on lap 13 for the stopped Tim Neis car, John Julicher Jr. was able to drive around Bryant on the restart. Jankowiak and a few other cars also moved up to the front spots. Julicher and Jankowiak were bumping and battling for the lead and on lap 17, Jankowiak went under Julicher in turn 3 to get the lead. Jankowiak went on and led the remaining laps. Madill, Lavis, Garlock and Agen rounded out the top 5. Julicher was penalized and finished in the 6th position.

Seven cars started the Super Stock feature as Kron and Canonico were missing. Wayne Bernhard got the lead early and set the car on cruise control as he led until the checkers. Dave Johnson tried to reel Bernhard in but couldn't catch him. Bernhard, Johnson, Mudra, Batista and Kraemer rounded out the top 5.

12 cars started the SST Sportsman race. 14 cars were pitside, but Billy Burd had motor problems and raced the #57. Sherri Hogan also had problems and ran the #57b. Russ Gian started on the pole with Nick Cappelli to his outside. Cappelli jumped to the lead position early in the race and held off pressure from Tom MacLeod late in the race to take home the win. Erick Rudolph and Kirk Rutherford finished third and forth.

Scott Skora started on the pole for the Dave Black Memorial 76 lapper. 15 cars started the feature. Scott Skora led the beginning of the race but on lap 20, John Julicher Sr. hit the turn 1 wall driving the #10 Art Hill car. On the restart, Todd Hoddick jumped around Skora and Hoddick dominated the remainder of the race. The race for second, third and forth was heating up. Weber, Brown and Skora were all battling but on lap 68, Jeff Browns rear axle broke and Brown spun in turn 3. Hoddick remained the leader and went on to win. Weber, Skora, Nurmi and Ticco rounded out the top 5.

Next Saturday, the MODIFIEDS return to Lancaster Raceway Park. Come on out for the Bike Blast, Demo Derby and Modified Bud 50!
