Holmes wins the Firecracker along with Scott Skora, Alberti and Madill going home victorious.

This weekend at LRP, the RoC Modifieds rolled in. The Sportsman were off but the Modified show was 75 laps. All the car counts looked good as some outsiders showed up in all the divisions.

The first feature of the night was the Street Stocks. 34 cars started the race with Gary Bartella on the pole. It wouldn't last long for Bartella as on the first lap, contact caused him to spin. The first lap was eventful with Bartella spinning and Joe Light coming to a stop in turn four trapping Bobby Hanel Jr on the outside. Pete Hackett got the lead but fell to third after Mike Maggiore, Joe Mergl, Jim Bryant and Jeff Madill were all running hard in a tight pack behind the leader. Mike "Wookie" Maggiore found himself in the lead but Jeff Madill was charging hard. Madill went to the outside of Maggiore and both ran two wide for some laps. Jeff Madill was able to pull around Maggiore and won the feature. Congratulations Mike Maggiore on your second, second place finish of the year. Joe Mergl and Jim Bryant also had great races coming up through the field. Russell Knutsen was missing but I'm sure he will be back real soon.

The Super Stocks were up next. Heat Winner Paul Alberti pulled away from the field and won his first feature of the season. Mike Scott and Wayne Bernhard had some tough luck and Bernhard got his first DNF in quite a while. George Roesch, Dave Johnson, Frank Batista and Jay Mudra rounded out the top 5.

The Modifieds were pushed ahead of the Late Models because of threatening rain. Dave Wollaber was on the pole with Daren Scherrer on his outside. On lap 1, Jan Leaty, Earl Paules, Rick Kluth, and Rusty Smith all spun in turn 3 with Paules and Smith in the foam. The 24 of Phil Slater spun a few laps later and Dave Wollaber remained the leader. Pit strategy came into play as McGrath, Putney, Hossfeld and some others went in the pits but Wollaber stayed out. Wollaber remained in the lead but McGrath was charging through the field. With a green white checkered, Wollaber made contact with McGrath after McGrath had passed him causing McGrath to spin. McGrath and Wollaber were both sent to the rear. This put Bobby Holmes in the lead. Bobby Holmes won with Putney, Mike Leaty, Daren Scherrer and Chuck Hossfeld rounding out the top 5.

Ron Nurmi started out front in the Late Model feature. The field remained the same as it started for quite a few laps. Scott Skora got himself up to the second position. With 5 to go, Scott Skora passed Ron Nurmi. Nobody could catch Scott as he went on to his first Lancaster Late Model victory. Mike Ticco was missing.

Next Weekend is Autograph Night at LRP. All Divisions are on hand except the Midgets. Come on out and see your favorite drivers.
