Rudolph doubles up with a Modified and SST win. Dunn Tire Raceway Park finally got some good weather and had a full card of racing on hand along with Autograph Night. The first feature event was the Fast and Furious 4 cylinders. Cassie McGrath started on the pole. There was a tight nit pack at the front for the first few laps, and Derek Wagner was able to get the lead and pull away. Tim Haniszewski Sr, who started last, was able to finish 2nd. Last races winner, Matt Druar, got a solid 3rd place finish. The Street Stock race was a long one with many cautions. 28 cars started the race and Ed Nowak was on the pole with Rick Ortwein to his outside. On lap 3, the #20 and #23 made contact and the #23 spun, collecting John Julicher Jr and Kevin Mendel. After this, Mike Maggiore got the lead with Rick Ortwein behind him. Jim Stein was charging through the field. Maggiore and Stein made contact with about 3 laps left. Now Rick Ortwein was the leader, and the end of the race was a little confusing. Ortwein was told to shut his car off by race officials, then the car didnt start, so he went to the pits and came back out the leader. Cory Gallagher was second, and Dave Frieder was third. Bryant was sent back 2 spots for not listening to race officials. On the restart, Gallagher got around Ortwein in turns 3 and 4. Gallagher went on to win, with Frieder, Bryant, Blaszak and Ortwein rounding out the top 5. Sherri Hogan started on the pole for the SST Sportsman race. 23 cars started the race. Andy Jankowiak got the lead early, but was run down once again by Erick Rudolph. Rudolph got around Andy and won. Rudolph has won all the Sportsman races this season. Jankowiak, Murray, MacLeod, and Harding rounded out the top 5. 7 cars started the Late Model race, with Todd Hoddick on the pole. Hoddick, Alix and Nurmi all were battling for the lead, and Nurmi came out first. Alix and Hoddick battled for 2nd. Ron Nurmi won with Hoddick, Alix, Pennell and Widmer rounding out the top 5. The Modified race had there 50 lap feature up next. 18 cars started the race, with Rick Kluth on the pole. Dave Wollaber started 2nd and got the lead early, but Buck Catalano was right on his tail. On lap 12, Buck was able to get around the 5 car. Erick Rudolph was sitting second and got around Buck as he fell through the field. Rudolph had the lead, and Sege Fidanza was in second. Rudolph was able to hold off the #77 and pull away to his first DTRP modified victory. Fidanza, McGrath, Catalano and Potrewbowski rounded out the top 5.
