Holmes, Weber, Cappelli, Batista, and Bryant all win on Autograph Night! posted on July 8th This weekend was autograph night at LRP. All the drivers had there goodies out for the kids along with autograph cards as well as Billy Burd's bike giveaway, Tommy Reese's DVDs of his win and Wayne Bernhard's famous bowling pins. The Street Stock feature was the first after Autograph activities. Scott Mutka started from the pole and lead many laps. Jim Stein got pushed up in turn four by Tom Agen Jr on lap 1 putting Stein near the back half of the field. Jim Bryant was charging through the field as he took second place. Tim Garlock was following Bryant. With four to go, Bryant got around Mutka and won his first feature of 2006. Garlock, Mutka, Bulger and Agen Sr rounded out the top 5. Frank Batista started on the pole in the Super Stocks. Frank dominated the race as nobody could catch him. Mike Scott spun in turn 3 after contact from the 57. Frank Batista led all the laps and won his first Super Stock race. Teammates Wayne Bernhard and Dave Johnson were able to make there way up to 2nd and 3rd. Sharpe and Mudra rounded out the top 5. The SST Sportsman were up next. Ed Weber was on the pole with Ed Grimmer on his outside. On lap 1, Ed Murray, Jerry Gradl Jr and Craig Dolphin were caught up in a spin in turn 2 but were able to drive away to the pits. Nick Cappelli got the lead early after a pass on the outside. Nick Cappelli went on to his second victory of the year. Justin Shepker and Sherri Hogan had strong finishes coming in second and third. Burd and Gian rounded out the top 5. George Skora started on the pole in the Late Model feature. Bob Weber was able to get his way up to second and was racing Skora on the outside for many laps. A caution came out and Weber was declared the leader after all that side by side racing. Bob Weber was able to get his forth win of the year. George Skora remained in third and Nurmi, Rich Skora, and Pennell rounded out the top 5. Brett Scherrer started out front for the modified race. Bobby Holmes took the lead on lap 1. As Scherrer fell through the field, he got collected with McGrath in turn 3. Holmes continued to lead and fellow DeLange teammate got up to second. Sege kept the third place spot and McGrath and Putney rounded out the top 5. Next Weekend is Robosaurus Night and as of now, I'm not sure if I'm going.
