Hebing, Weber, Murray, Evans, Agen Sr. and Rudolph all take home Victories. posted on June 17, 2006 Lancaster had there Nostalgia Day along with a 5 feature racing event. ALL Divisions were on hand for once which hasn't happened all year. The TQ Midgets were the first feature of the night. Heat Winners Wayne Turnbull and Erick Rudolph started up front. Erick Rudolph found the lead early. Once in the lead, nobody could really catch him. Jamie Collard got all the way up to second but couldn't catch the leader. Wayne Turnbull stayed near the front and got a solid 3rd place finish. This was Erick's first Midget win at LRP. Kaz Toracek started on the pole in the Street Stock feature. Bobby Hanel Jr started up front also. Hanel Jr got the lead on lap 2. He lead some laps but Scott Mutka was charging him on the outside. Mutka got the lead but had motor problems and began to fall back. Mike Maggiore aka Wookie, got the lead. Maggiore's car was strong and it appeared he could win but Tom Agen Sr was coming. Agen captured the lead from Maggiore and won the feature. Wookie got a very solid 2nd place finish. Hanel Jr, Mergl and Madill rounded out the top 5. The Modified feature was next to give more time to the guys making the trip out to WCIS the next day. Sege Fidanza captured the lead early and Tom McGrath was close behind. Sege and Tom spun in turn 2 resulting in both cars going to the rear. Bill Hebing got the lead. Bobby Holmes was in second but Lee Sherwood and McGrath wanted to get around him. McGrath assisted in spinning Holmes after he was already loose. McGrath found himself all the back up to 2nd after his early spin with Sege. Bill Hebing, driving Kenny Troyer's car, was too strong for anyone to get around him. Bill Hebing won with McGrath, Sherwood, Fidanza and Putney rounding out the top 5. Three more features were yet to be run and the Super Stocks were next. Jason Gwin started on the pole. Bernhard and Johnson started near the back of the field but came up through lap after lap. Doug Evans was the leader and his car looked hooked up. Johnson and Bernhard came all the way up to second and third but couldn't catch Evans. Doug Evans got his first victory of the year with Johnson, Bernhard, Widmer and Sharpe rounding out the top 5. In the Sportsman, Ed Murray sat on the pole and won the race. Frank Booker made his way up to second with Gradl not far behind. I believe there were no cautions and it was a very quick feature race. Sherri Hogan captured a solid 4th place finish with Cappelli behind in 5th. The Late Models were the last feature of the night and Mark Pennell was on the pole. Pennell lead a good amount of laps but then Bob Weber took the lead. Rich Skora and Mike Ticco spun in turn 2 and Scott Nurmi spun with about 3 to go giving Pennell a chance to regain the lead. Weber kept the lead and Pennell finished 2nd with Johnson, Scott Skora and Ron Nurmi following. Next Saturday at LRP, we have the Extreme Freestyle Motorcycle Show with Skydivers, & Motorcycle Appreciation Night.
