Madill, Shapre, Shepker, Reese, and Fidanza all take home victories. posted on June 24, 2006 This weekend LRP had a motorcycle appreciation night. All divisions were on hand except the TQ Midgets. The night started out with the Street Stocks. Gary Bartella and Wayne Lavis were on the front row. As Bartella fell back, Lavis took the lead. Lavis lead some laps but the handling on his car began to fall off. As Lavis fell back, Jeff Madill found himself up front. Tim Garlock and Russell Knutsen were riding in second and third. With about 13 to go, Mutka spun down the backstretch and his car almost went over the backstretch wall. Rich Hoch had an impressive night coming in fifth. Madill won the race with Garlock, Knutsen, Stein and Hoch following. Once again, the Super Stock field was small but they put on a good show as always. Kyle Sharpe started on the pole. He lead all the laps and won. Mike Scott had a solid night and came in second. Scott closed in on Sharpe but Sharpe's car was hooked up. Sharpe won with Scott, Evans, Bernhard and Alberti rounding out the top 5. Justin Shepker started on the pole in the Sportsman race. Nick Cappelli found himself in second and was putting some pressure on Shepker. Shepker stayed in the lead. Russ Gian, Sherri Hogan and Ed Murray all spun and hit the turn 4 foam causing a thermal foam blizzard for all the people in the stands. Shepker stayed in the lead and won his first feature of the year. Cappelli came in a close second. The car count in the Late Models was small but they put on a good show. Heat Winner, Tommy Reese started up front. Ron Nurmi and Mike Ticco got collected in turn 2 and ended both of there nights. Tommy Reese stayed out front with Rich Skora and Bob Weber right on his tail. Rich Skora looked as if he could win the race but Reese held him off. Rich Skora, Weber, Scott Skora and George Skora rounded out the top 5 in a Skora family top 5. Brett Sherrer started out front for the Modified event. He fell back quickly giving the lead to Bobby Holmes. Holmes lead some laps but Sege was right on his bumper. Sege got around Holmes after a lot of mirror driving and dominated the rest of the race. Billy Putney got around Holmes also putting Putney in second. Nobody could catch Sege as he won his first feature of the year. Putney, Holmes, Sherwood and Wollaber rounded out the top 5. Next weekend is sure to be a good one at Lancaster. The ROC 75 is taking place and look for names such as Chuck Hossfeld, Eric Beers, as well as all the ROC regulars. There is also a Late Model special and fireworks but the Sportsman are off.
