Lawrence, Stein, Bernhard, Cappelli and Weber take home Victories. posted on May 7, 2006 It was another beautiful day at Lancaster Raceway Park on May 7th. The Late Models had there 40 lap opener. LRP's regular divisions were also on hand including the SST Sportsman, Super Stocks, Street Stocks and TQ Midgets. The first feature of the afternoon was the TQ Midgets. Some drivers who had trouble on opening day were on hand such as Erick Rudolph and Dan Lawrence. Dan Lawrence was able to find the lead in his yellow #7 TQ. Erick Rudolph looked strong until the end when it seemed as he was off pace. Dan Lawrence won with DJ Sossong coming in second, Rudolph third, Raab forth, and Hessler rounding out the top 5. The Glen Campbell Street Stocks were up next. Heat Winners Jim Bryant and Rob Bulger were starting near the front. Rockin Rob Bulger found the lead early but Jim Stein put some pressure on him with 5 to go. Jim Bryant was close behind Stein. Rob Bulger went on to victory lane but after post race inspection, Jim Stein was credited with the victory. Bryant, Agen, Mendel and Knutsen rounded out the top 5. In the Super Stocks, Kyle Sharpe looked strong starting up front. Early in the feature, Mike Scott got in a tangle up and ended up taking off his hood and had some body damage. That wouldn't stop Scott as he charged back to second. Wayne Bernhard got the lead from Sharpe and didn't look back. That beautiful Lavender car was back in victory lane. Scott, Sharpe, Roesch and Alberti rounded out the top 5. Jay Mudra did not start the event. Nick Cappelli went to victory lane in the SST Sportsman feature showing why he is a past champion. Cappelli charged through the field taking it to the high side on many of the cars he passed. Jerry Gradl came in second. Justin Shepker was able to get a reasonable finish in 3rd after riding in the top 5 or 6 for most of the race. Bob Weber was able to get back in victory lane after taking 2005 off. George Skora got the lead early but Bob Weber was able to slowing reel him in. George Skora almost got the win but with a caution with 2 laps to go, Weber got his chance. The whole Skora family had a good race with George Skora coming in second, Rich Skora third, and Scott Skora coming in fifth.
